The Alex Monte Kastella, Santikos Collection

This stay was the perfect combination of thoughtful staff, great location, comfortable hotel with all the amenities and superb restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance, say 10 minutes, and it's a beautiful walk along the marina. 10 minute walk to the Metro to get to Athens is only 5 stops to Coliseum. The team here went above and beyond and were very friendly. Would definitely stay here again. We had a 17 hour flight from Auckland to Dubai, then another 5 hours to Athens. So glad we landed in this wonderful escape.

We spent 1 night at this hotel before our cruise and would highly recommend it. The staff are AMAZING. Soon as we arrived in the taxi, they came out and got our cases and brought them in. There was fresh water and a lovely coffee waiting for us as we came into reception. Staff very attentive and could not do enough for us. First impressions were very good of the hotel, spotlessly clean and modern. The staff took our bag upto our room whilst we finished our coffee in the lounge. Fresh coffee can be got free of charge from the machine in the lobby anytime. It's lovely fresh coffee. Our room was clean and modern. We had a sea view balcony room. It had everything we needed. The bed was absolutely amazing. I have a bad back and always struggle when away but had the best nights sleep I've had in about 4 months! I woke up feeling well slept and refreshed and wanting to take the bed home with me!!! We had a meal on the roof top bar and this was absolutely delicious. Again, the staff are just wonderful, so happy and chatty and can't do enough to help. All speak perfect English too.

Perfect position over the harbour. Rooftop restaurant a definite plus for breakfast in the mornings.Pleasant staff, comfortable room,modern bathroom facilities. Hotel on a main bus route to the main port facility of Piraeus & ferries to all the Greek islands as well as a 20 minute walk to the subway station to central Athens. 10 minute walk to a selection of local eateries.

From the moment I arrived the staff could not do enough to make me feel welcome. The hotel was clean and inviting and though I had one of the smaller rooms at the rear it was comfortable and quiet. There are tea/coffee facilities in the lobby and importantly for me secure parking as I was on a motorcycle. They even let me keep it there after I checked out whilst exploring Athens. Breakfast was delicious and I liked the fact it was made to order rather than a buffet. I also had dinner there and that too was delicious and reasonably priced

When we arrived the front desk staff were immediately out taking our luggage, and offering us coffee while we checked in. We had arrived early due to disembarking our cruise early, but they were so very accommodating and gave us an early check in for which we most grateful. We had booked a superior queen with sea views. It was a corner room so we had 2 windows so double aspect sea views over the marina and beyond - even the Acropolis was in this view. The decor was lovely and we had a large balcony. We had dinner on the first night - great choice, fresh ingredients, well prepared and served. Stunning evening views. Breakfast was excellent - again great choice, fresh ingredients, exceptional views from the rooftop terrace, great service. All the staff were so kind, helpful, professional, well turned out and friendly. We had a 2-night stay and got out and about into Athens centre very easily using the Metro which was about a 10 minute walk away at Neo Faliro. Best stop to get off is Thiseio and follow the road to the right which brings you straight up to the Acropolis. If we ever return to Athens, The Alex would be our first choice.
